Creative Life Coaching combines traditional life coaching with creative exploration. Led by a Board-Certified Life Coach, sessions focus on your life—your goals, challenges, transitions, relationships, patterns, decisions, and the places where you may feel stuck.
The creative process becomes another way to think, reflect, explore, and discover what may be difficult to put into words.
You do not need to consider yourself an artist. You do not need artistic experience. And nothing you create needs to be “good.”
The art isn’t the goal.
The insight is.
Creative Life Coaching may be a good fit if you are:
You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. Coaching can begin with something as simple as, “I know something needs to change, but I’m not sure what.”
Every session begins with you.
We may talk about what has been happening, identify something you want to explore, examine a challenge from another perspective, establish a goal, or look at what may be getting in the way of moving forward.
Depending on the conversation, creativity may become part of that process.
You might paint, draw, collage, work with color, respond to a prompt, create a visual metaphor, map out a problem, or use another simple creative exercise designed to help you explore what is happening beneath the surface.
Sometimes we may spend much of the session creating.
Sometimes we may barely touch an art supply.
Creative activities are used intentionally when they can help deepen the coaching process—not simply because you are sitting in an art studio.
Sometimes words get us only so far.
We can know what we think about something without fully understanding how we experience it. We can tell the same story repeatedly and still struggle to see it differently.
Creative exploration can interrupt that pattern. A color choice, image, symbol, unexpected mark, or visual representation of a problem can give you something tangible to respond to. It can help you step outside of a situation long enough to see relationships, possibilities, barriers, or perspectives that weren't as obvious before.
There is no artistic expectation attached to this process.
You are creating to explore—not to perform.
Creative Life Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused process designed to support self-reflection, personal growth, decision-making, goal development, and meaningful change.
I bring my experience as a Board-Certified Life Coach and more than two decades of work in behavioral health, psychology, and human behavior into the coaching relationship.
You bring your experiences, questions, goals, and knowledge of your own life.
Together, we explore.
Creative Life Coaching is not psychotherapy, counseling, mental health treatment, or art therapy. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions and is not a substitute for care from a licensed mental health professional.
You may absolutely bring difficult experiences, grief, change, relationships, uncertainty, or complicated emotions into the coaching space. The distinction is in how we work with them: coaching focuses on insight, choice, growth, and where you want to go from here.
Basic creative materials used during coaching sessions are available in the studio.
Because creative work is used as a coaching tool rather than as formal art instruction, you generally do not need to purchase or bring specialized supplies.
If an ongoing project or particular material becomes useful to your coaching process, we can discuss options together.
Growth doesn't necessarily stop when the session ends.
Depending on your goals, you may leave with a question to consider, a creative prompt, an action step, an experiment to try, or simply something you want to notice before we meet again.
The purpose isn't to give you homework.
It's to help what we discover in the studio become meaningful in your everyday life.
Creative Life Coaching sessions are one hour and are scheduled individually, allowing coaching to fit your needs rather than requiring a predetermined program.
Some people come to coaching with a specific challenge they want to work through over several sessions. Others benefit from ongoing support as their goals and circumstances evolve.
We can determine the rhythm that makes sense for you.
